In order to obtain official approval for your product RF performance must be tested. These measurements are required for CE/FCC/ISED certification.
The purpose is to evaluate that the radio functions according to directives and regulations. The law concerns all products with a radio which operate in 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band. For example, Bluetooth and Wifi.
The measurements are made from the physical RF connector.
