Environmental Testing

Your industry, our focus

The product is subjected to climatic and mechanical stresses in its operating environment and during transport and storage. The effects of environmental conditions on the product and its package can be evaluated by means of various thermal, humidity and corrosion tests, and vibration and shock tests.

Our long-time experience and versatile testing facilities offer solutions for the test planning and customized or standards-compliant testing of new products. Our testing laboratory is accredited for the testing of finished products, and its scope of accreditation includes a comprehensive selection of testing methods compliant with the different standards.

Expert services of testing

We provide assistance to our clients already at the product development stage; together, we will determine what kind of stresses the product will be subjected to during its life cycle.

  • Determination of environmental condition stresses
  • Determination of testing requirements
  • Design of testing programmes
  • Design of the test set-up and fixtures
  • Supporting mechanical design of products
  • Climate testing of products

Climate testing of products

The effect of climate conditions to which a product is exposed in its operating environment and during transport and storage can be verified using individual thermal, temperature variation and humidity tests, and corrosion tests.

Vibration and shock testing of products

Products are subjected to mechanical stresses at different stages of its life cycle - during transport and storage, and in its operating environment. The durability and performance of the product's structure can be ensured with vibration, shock and drop test carried out at the early design stage. The protective and damping properties of the product's transport package can be examined using stresses equivalent to transport conditions and measurements of damping properties.

Testing of transportation packages

It is almost impossible to avoid mechanical stress during transportation. Due to this in the design of the transport package it is necessary to consider shocks caused by package falling or vibrations enduced by transportation platforms.

Tightness testing of enclosures

Tightness requirements may be set for the enclosures of electrical and electronic products due to the electrical safety requirements of the operating conditions or other environmental conditions. The ingress protection class (IP class) of the enclosure is verified with water, moisture and dust tests. The protection against solid foreign objects is verified with access probe tests. The water protection properties can also be tested according to NEMA or UL requirements.
