Accreditation regarding the new test standard ISO 16890 for ventilation air filters

A new testing standard ISO 16890 for testing general ventilation air filters was approved at the end of last year. The new standard replaces standard EN 779 in the middle of year 2018. We at VTT Expert Services Ltd. predicted the changes and we started the renovation of our laboratory already last summer. Our accreditation regarding the new standard is valid from 1st of February.
The new standard ISO 16890 is based on the American ASHRAE 52.2 and the European EN 779 standard. The reform will simplify the international trade. The new standard will also make it possible to evaluate how much ventilation air filters affect indoor air quality.
