Determining the non-combustible properties EN ISO 1182

The test specimen is placed in a vertical tube furnace (diameter 45 mm and height 50 mm) at 750 °C.

Tempera­ture alterations caused by possible burning of the test specimen are monitored with the furnace thermocoup­le and if required with two additional thermocouples, of which one is on the specimen surface and one in the specimen center. During the test the flaming time of the test specimen is also measured.

The method is used for classification of construction products to classes A1, A2, A1fl, A2fl, A1L and A2L. he classification in not only based on the results of this method. Different test methods and classification criteria are presented in the classification standard EN 13501-1.

Fire classification for construction products

Fire classification for construction products is made according to classification standard EN 13501-1. Classification for roof coverings is made according to EN 13501-5. The test methods for classification and classification criteria are presented in the classification standards.
