Burglary, Ballistic and Blast Resistance Testing

We test the durability of products against burglary attempts, blast impacts, and ballistic threats. Our services help manufacturers, authorities, and defence industry operators ensure product safety, compliance with standards, and reliability in critical situations. 

 

Blast Resistance Testing 

Blast testing targets structures, doors, vehicle components, and other products that must withstand pressure and fragmentation caused by explosions. 

Standards: EN 13123, EN 13124, ISO 16933 

Testing Methods: 

 

  • Accredited Standard-compliant testing 
  • Indicative testing: Indicative testing can be used to assess product characteristics and provide information on how they relate to the targeted classification. The results may help the manufacturer identify potential areas for improvement. 

 

Ballistic Resistance Testing 

Ballistic testing targets protective doors, windows, vehicle components, and other products that must withstand firearm impacts. Although not legally required, ballistic testing is often a customer requirement or competitive advantage in many markets. 

Standards: EN 1522 (Accredited), EN 1063 (Accredited), Other applicable standards: NIJ, NATO, VPAM 

Testing Methods: 

 

  • Accredited standard-compliant testing 
  • Indicative testing allows the manufacturer to assess the product's characteristics and gain insight into how they relate to the targeted classification. The test results may help the manufacturer identify potential areas for improvement. 

 

Burglary Resistance Testing 

Burglary resistance testing targets structures, doors, windows, equipment enclosures, and other products requiring burglary resistance classification. 

Standards: EN 1627–1630 (Accredited), SSF 1090 (Accredited) 

Testing Methods: 

 

  • Accredited standard-compliant testing 
  • Indicative testing: Indicative testing allows the manufacturer to assess the product's characteristics and gain insight into how they relate to the targeted classification. The test results may help the manufacturer identify potential areas for improvement.

Accredited test methods in accordance with the standard are covered by the scope of accreditation. Competence area T001 (FINAS Finnish Accreditation Service).
